An '''Overlay Network''' (オーバーレイ・ネットワーク ''Ōbārei Nettowāku'') is a portal created as part of an [[Xyz Summon]] in the ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|anime]] '' anime and [[Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL (manga)|manga]]series.
All [[Xyz Monster]]s, with special exceptions like the "[[Number]]s", are Xyz Summoned through a red, spiraling portal. The [[Xyz Material]]s then become orbs of light which orbit the Xyz Monster. When [[detach]]ed by the [[player]], the orbs are absorbed by the Xyz Monster in its own specific way.
