Differences include:
* [[Katsuya Jonouchi (Toei anime)|Jonouchi]] was playing with [[yo-yo]]s as in Duels 48 and 49. [[Anzu Mazaki (Toei anime)|Anzu]] tells him about a gang, who are mugging people using yo-yos, prompting Jonouchi to go hunt them down to punish them. The next day, he is absent from school. Unlike in the manga, [[Miho Nosaka|Miho]] also went with [[Yugi Muto Mutou (Toei anime)|Yugi]], [[Hiroto Honda (Toei anime)|Honda]] and Anzu in search of Jonouchi.
* [[Hirutani's gang]]'s cigarettes were removed.
* Jonouchi didn't punch out one of the gangsters until Hirutani took him captive. He accused Hirutani of not keeping his end of the deal, by harming Yugi.
* Jonouchi and [[Dark Yugi (Toei anime)|Dark Yugi]] fought off Hirutani's gang as they did in Duel 49.
