Hi. To answer your question, I double checked with Earl about how we go about doing the summaries. The anime is a portrayal of the real life game, so we have to follow the card texts as closely as possible. Diverging from the real life game would be a bad idea in this case. Which means we have to include "target" in the summaries to keep things consistent with the card text. I understand that wordiness is a common issue in most of the summaries where even the act of Fusion Summoning gets lengthy, in comparison to previous series. But the general explanation of what a card does and how it works should match as far as possible with the card text. But sometimes, "target" actually helps in constructing the explanation for an effect, like for instance "[[Link Protection]]" in [[Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS - Episode 039|Episode 39]]. Though admittedly, the use of it in most cases (such as Special Summoning from the GY) would not be too necessary, but we kind of have to stick with it.<br />
