Chancellor Foster
Chancellor Foster, known in Japan as Ichinose (市ノ瀬) is the head of North Academy. Foster first appears to Chazz disguised, and gives him the Ojama Yellow card. Afterwards, he helps Chazz in gaining access to the school to duel its top duelist Czar and gives him the rare Armed Dragon series. Later on, Foster places a bet on the outcome of the duel between Chazz and Jaden with Main article: Chancellor Sheppard. The prize, however, turns out to be nothing more than a kiss from Ms. Dorothy. In the English dub, Foster is voiced by Marc Diraison, while Izumi Shoji takes the role in the Japanese version.

Lucien Grimley
 Lucien Grimley, known in Japan as Ikaku Tachibana (橘一角, Tachibana Ikaku) is a duelist who enters the Genex tournament from North Academy. A failing duelist originally from North Academy, Lucien makes a deal with the malevolent spirit of the forbidden and cursed Grim Reaper (voiced by Scottie Ray / Shinobu Matsumoto) card (Possibly an incarnation of Reaper of the Cards) sealed by the school, selling his soul to obtain incredible draw power. The reaper imbues his right hand with the symbol of himself. Although he claims that his goal is to be victor of the Genex tournament, his true wish was to experience a trusting bond with his deck. He eventually loses to Jaden but promises not to lose trust in himself again. To that end, he threw the Reaper's card away, committed to winning without its assistance. In the English dub, Lucien is voiced by David Wills, while Kazuhiro Nakata takes the role in the Japanese version. Lucien plays a Reaper Deck. Using various Spell Cards to force his opponents to automatically play or set cards on the field, he builds up to a certain number before activating Slash Draw to instantly wipe out his opponents' Life Points after he draws another copy from his deck. As a back-up, Lucein's Invincible Demise LordGrimley can revive itself with near invincibility to destruction, allowing it to survive the effect of Slash Draw, which would destroy it under normal circumstances. Lucien is also notable for being the first duelist in the entirety of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series to be portrayed as left-handed, or ambidextrous. He duels with his right hand while influenced by the Grim Reaper, but is able to switch to his left hand with ease. {| border="1" cellspacing="0" width="100%"|-! valign="top" style="background:#800000; color:#FFFF00" colspan="3" | Deck|-| valign="top" style="border-top:none;" || valign="top" style="border-top:none;" || valign="top" style="border-top:none;" ||}
