While browsing at the [[Kame Gameshop (Toei)|game shop]], Risa Kageyama noticed [[Anzu Mazaki (Toei)|Anzu Mazaki]] giving the rare card, "[[Violet Hecate (Toei)|Violet Hecate]]", to Yugi Mutou. She and [[Kageyama sisters|her sisters]] conspired a means to get the card. This involved Risa sending a love letter to Yugi and feigning an attraction to him to charm him into giving her the card.
The letter was put in an envelope sealed with a heart-shaped stamp and placed in Yugi's locker. However the letter fell on the floor as Yugi took his shoes out of his locker. [[Katsuya Jonouchi (Toei)|Katsuya Jonouchi]] and [[Hiroto Honda (Toei)|Hiroto Honda]] immediately spotted the envelope, which they recognized as being a love letter and both claimed it must be for them. As they fought over it, they let it drift away and it was caught by [[Miho Nosaka]], who read Yugi's name on the envelope.
