The known abilities of Psychic Duelists include materializing [[Duel Monsters]] using cards and causing [[Life Points]] [[damage]] inflicted on the opponent to become real pain, even outside of a duel. [[Akiza Izinski]] and [[Sayer]] have displayed such abilities. Causing Life Points damage to become real pain, is involuntary on Akiza's behalf and was fueled by her hatred and violent nature prior to meeting and later befriending [[Yusei Fudo]].
Psychic duelists are not known to have traditional "psychic" powers , such as telekinesis (like although telekinesishas been mentioned and shown to be used).
Thus it is because of their powers to inflict real damage in duel that their dueling has been classified into a different kind. It is known that whenever a Psychic duelist is fighting, they called it a '''Psychic Duel'''.
