I think we should add to this card trivia page it's similarities to Ultimate Tyranno. Snetonobre (talkcontribs) 17:52, July 12, 2013 (UTC)

Normal Summon[edit]

"This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with these effects." So, wait, I'm confused. It becomes a Normal monster on the field, but it can't be on the field unless I summon it, and when it's a Normal monster on the field, apparently I can Normal summon it to make it an Effect m monster, but how can I Normal summon it when it's already been summoned? --LegerPrime (talkcontribs) 23:54, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

"Skelesaurus" is a Gemini monster, and these monsters all share the effect of being treated as a Normal Monster while on the field or in the Graveyard. After being Summoned as a Normal Monster to the field, it has be Normal Summoned a second time to become an Effect Monster that has its effects. This does use your one Normal Summon for the turn, so you have to have one available. This second Normal Summon is also still a Summon, and so can be negated.

So if I Normal Summon Skelesaurus to the field as a Normal Monster, I have to wait until my next turn to Normal Summon it as an Effect Monster and I won't be able to Normal Summon another monster from my hand? And if I Special Summon Skelesaurus as a Normal Monster, I can either Normal Summon it as an Effect Monster on the same turn or Normal Summon another Monster and wait until my next turn to Normal Summon Skelesaurus as an Effect Monster?

Yeah, that's about it. You have one Normal Summon every turn, and Gemini monsters use it. Of course, since this is naturally very slow, there are workaround cards, such as "Double Summon" and "Catalyst Field" to give you an additional Normal Summon, or "Supervise" to immediately make your Gemini monster an Effect Monster without using your Normal Summon, among others.
