I Have a Beef[edit]

If the card in your opponent's hand is a Spell or Trap Card, it can be set.

If the card in your opponent's hand is a Monster, it can be Normal Summoned.

If it can't, then this becomes a lock--but that isn't something the person making the lock can control.

You may as well say that two "Watthoppers" and a "Wattpheasant" make a lockdown. At least then you don't need any Tuners.

Vegetarian's Answer to Your Beef[edit]

You're right that the opponent can put their hand on the field to avoid returning a card to the deck. The Hopperlock (two Watthoppers) is the real star of the show. It's still a lock, but Wattchimera isn't essential. It's just a great improvement.

It also has good timing. First the opponent tries to attack/target but is blocked by the double Watthoppers. Then they get direct-attacked by a Watt. Then their next turn comes and they realize they still can't do anything, so they end with at least one card in their hand and small panic brewing. Now you bust out Wattchimera, attack directly, and basically take away their next draw. By this point, the opponent is really panicking and you've taken half their Life Points. Even if they set their hand next turn, you've slowed them by a lot and they're unlikely to break the Hopperlock in the next two turns.
