Cultural streamlining

In the Adaptations section it mentions that the text was removed because of "cultural streamlining", until now I questioned why they took the text out of the English version in other episodes, but I have no clue what "cultural streamlining" means. Does it mean no text because not everyone in America can read English? If so then that's stupid! Azure Knight-Zeo 21:59, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

It says that both Japanese and English text were removed for this purpose. This is because the anime is dubbed in a few different languages. So it'd be strange for people to see a different language than the one they're hearing. It also mentions FCC regulations. If I recall correctly that means text has to be removed from cards, to make them seem less realistic, as it is illegal to advertise real life products in a childrens show. Oh so that's why the card's don't have text. But for other stuff couldn't they just keep the Japanese and English text and have subtitles in the language it's airing? I could swear I saw something like that in another anime but I can't remember the name... Azure Knight-Zeo 00:10, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
