- This card can be searched via "Terraforming" and "Demise of the Land".
- This card is designed to work best with Frog Decks since mostly all frog monsters are Level 2/Aqua/Water.
- Since this is an extremely important card to certain decks (much like "Umi" and "A Legendary Ocean") you might decide to use "Field Barrier" to keep this card protected at all times.
- Use "Gravity Bind" with the monsters used for Wetlands since they are all level 2 or lower and since all level 4 or higher monsters can't attack it makes a nice twist on the classic "Hydrobind" strategy.
- "Star Boy" works well in combination with this card giving you a 2250ATK monster that can also power-up all your other Water monsters by 500ATK.
- Each Additional Star Boy will also boost each other's ATK, for a grand total of 3250ATK when all three are on the field.
- "Ooguchi" works well with this card, giving you a monster with 1500ATK that can attacks your opponent directly.
- "Unifrog" works well with this card, giving you a monster with 1600ATK that can attacks your opponent directly.
- Also works with the classic Psychic Kappa which grows to 1600ATK or "Frog the Jam" which gets powered up to 1900ATK a monster. You can then power-up both using "Star Boy" and/or "Nightmare Penguin".
- Use "Jam Breeding Machine" with this card to create 1700 ATK "Slime Tokens" each turn. Just figure out how to get "Star Boy" and/or "Nightmare Penguin" out on the field before the tokens start appearing or by somehow "Ignoring the Summoning Conditions".
- Use "Limit Reverse" to summon the weak 1000 ATK or less monsters such as the ones that get powered up by Wetlands or you can also bring back "Star Boy" (or possibly "Nightmare Penguin") for a surprise power-up when you need it most.
- Use "Demotion" on a powerful Level 4/Aqua-Type/Water monster such as "Warrior of Atlantis" or "Mad Lobster" to give it a huge boost.
- "Cryomancer of the Ice Barrier" is a Tuner monster card that is Level 2/Aqua-Type/Water that has 1300 attack points! Wetland makes him a 2500 beat stick! Also if another "Ice Barrier" monster is on your side of the field monsters Level 4 or higher cannot attack. However that would not be detrimental to a wetland deck as most if not all your monsters would be less than level 4 anyway.
- "Mother Grizzly" can search out most of your wetland monsters, as can "Sangan" or even "Deep Diver".
- "Salvage" can bring back 2 of your wetland monsters to your hand.
- 'Junk Synchron" can bring back one of your wetland monsters from the graveyard, and more importantly if the monster is exactly Level 2, you can immediately syncro summon "Junk Warrior", who gains attack equal to the attack of all of your Level 2 or lower monsters! Junk Warrior can become the card of choice in a "Wetlands Deck"! - Now called a Frog deck.
