I personally think, "meh, could have been better". i still like Number 39: Utopia's effect better than that monster. Also, unless there's a clearer effect translation for its Summon, then that's just messed up. lol, i rather say that this card's effect should have been with "Leviathan Dragon"; they just fit together. i mean gaining 500 ATK per turn doesn't make much difference. making another face-up lose 1000 ATK seems so much better.  LastMinute (talk • contribs) 06:21, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

:::Amen to that, Neos01; but at least he got a broken effect - unaffected by other effect, which is polar oppose to Marshmallon's effect. And he give you life from monster's DEF and burning opponent's Life with the monster's ATK points. But still, he's vulnerable with that kind of attribute; he can be mind-control easily, can be Honest'd by simple cheap monster with LIGHT-Attribute, running into some cards that can banishing the monster without "destroy" it. I, personally, always knew that the time would come when Xyz Monsters would require other Xyz Monsters as Materials. I just didn't expect that it would only take 18 episodes and 3 boosters to get there. Only 18 episodes and the main character already gets a new Ace. Feels a bit rushed.PoirotH (talk • contribs) 17:49, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

This card is a great finisher if you summon it at the precise time.  Apparently, it seems the max xyz materials it will have is three, meaning this monster can cap out at 4k.  If your opponent's monster has 3k or less attack, they can drop as low as 0 attack.  At this point you need only a few conditions:
 +
 +
1.) No back row to stop you.  Trap stun, trunade, breaker before you exceed summon up to this card could help achieve this.
 +
2.) no annoying necro gardna or the like in the grave.
 +
3.) no attack negation abilities like SSD on the field, or effect negation like Chaos command magician.
 +
 +
if not for the life point requirement, summoning this card when your opponent monster is vulnerable at any given moment could put you seriously in the lead or finsih the game early, with cards like fairy meteor crush or twin swords.  However, hopefully they will raise the life point amount limit to 2000.Yuseiisagod (talk • contribs) 18:23, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

How is this a good finisher? It has veeeery little practical use compared to Steelswarm Roach or Stardust Dragon. A good finisher is Scrap Dragon. And if it's not the finisher...well...another Scrap Dragon will be.

The same way BRD Is a good finisher, and I'm not talking about nuke.  I'm talking about your op on low life setting a monster to defend thinking he or she is safe, until you synchro for BRD and switch his monster to attack and dropping attack value to 0. Any good duelist would make use of a cards full potential, not just one half of it, or one effect out of its multiple.

Now back to chaos ray, if your life is low the op is most likely going for the kill next turn, and will have a monster in attack prepared for it. Read my original post and you would see that this card can make an opening to do up to 4k, possibly ending the duel or doing more so then 2800 attack scrap could do. As much use as scrap is, it is still susceptible to SD, SSD,  red nova, body as a shield, etc., and can still be stopped by fader or swift, since of course a player would clear field with him instead of attacking a monster.Yuseiisagod (talk • contribs) 22:44, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

So, what do you guys think of Number C39: Utopia Ray? good? bad? Discuss

I personally think, "meh, could have been better". i still like Number 39: Utopia's effect better than that monster. Also, unless there's a clearer effect translation for its Summon, then that's just messed up. LastMinute (talkcontribs) 00:26, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

I found him little stranger, but if you want him to stay alive with that crap effect, then using some counter trap cards. Otherwise, pray for full text that OCG will release. --FredCat 00:29, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

Terrible. He's like Divine Neos. Pretty much useless-like Divine Neos. Nonetheless...it's a -3 that gives you a monster with lackluster effects (since you use Utopia, which already requires another material).BobaFett2 (talk)

omg are you doing this on purpose or are you just that bad? divine neos has the same use as a 5 headed dragon its called set up. activate future fusion, thin out 5 cards from your deck, and helloooo u have miracle fusion plays for days and if future fusion just so happens to go off and you get the divine neos for free Raiga (talkcontribs) 01:57, August 9, 2011 (UTC)
Divine Neos is terrible in the context that people try to make it without that stuff. They want to Fusion Summon it, not just use it as a set-up card. Also, good decks don't have all the materials-the only meta HERO decks don't use Neo-Spacians.BobaFett2 (talk)

Boba, do you meant for "Neos Wiseman"? Yea, he's much worst than Utopia Ray. --FredCat 13:10, August 9, 2011 (UTC)

I was thinking of Divine Neos but Wiseman...that's a better example.BobaFett2 (talk)

Yea, I found Wiseman version worst, due to required two freaking Level 7 or higher Monsters on the field and the said card in the freaking hand in order to summon him. Divine Neos don't need to be in hand or shit to Fusion Summon, all you do is Future Fusion him and Miracle Fusion him just to be ass around. --FredCat 13:17, August 9, 2011 (UTC)
