  • In the anime "Mad Archfiend's" attack is called "one Shard Shower" in the Japanese version and "Bone Shard Shower" in the English version.
  • Jack Atlas is seen using this card in a flashback Ground Duel against Yusei Fudo in episode 2. Yusei Fudo tries to attack this card with "Junk Warrior", but Jack activates "Shadow Spell", immobilizing "Junk Warrior" and decreasing its ATK by 700. "Mad Archfiend" then destroys "Junk Warrior", winning Jack the duel. How this is possible is not made clear as Yusei had 300 Life Points and the difference between the two monsters' ATK would have only been 200.
  • In episode 4, Jack uses this card in his Turbo Duel against Yusei. This card then destroys "Quillbolt Hedgehog". This card then inflicts Piercing Damage to Yusei. Yusei then destroys this card with "Junk Warrior".
  • In episode 33, this card is shown in a flashback explained by Jack. There, Jack is shown using this card in his Ground Duel against a member of the Magician's Four. Jack summons this card on the first turn of the Duel, but what happens next is unknown as it soon skips ahead to the final turn of the Duel.
  • In episode 62, Jack used this card in his Turbo Duel with Crow Hogan and Yusei against Rex Goodwin. He Normal Summons this card in Attack Position. In the next episode, Jack summons "Magic Hole Golem". Jack then uses the effect of "Magic Hole Golem" to halve this card's ATK until the End Phase in order to allow this card to attack directly this turn. This card then attacks Goodwin directly. On Jack's End Phase, the effect of "Magic Hole Golem" wears off, returning the ATK of this card back to normal. On Jack's next turn, he Normal Summons "Sinister Sprocket". Jack then tunes this card and "Magic Hole Golem" to Synchro Summon "Red Dragon Archfiend".
