- Vengeful Bog Spirit can stop Spirit Monsters attacking your Life Points.
- Fittingly enough, given its name, Vengeful Bog Spirit works well with Venom Swamp, as it guarantees your opponent's monsters will be significantly weakened by the time they are able to attack.
- Use this card in a Toon Deck - most Toon monsters won't be affected by this card.
- Vengeful Bog Spirit is a good stalling card together with Penguin Soldier. By returning both himself and another monster to the hand, Penguin Soldier can create an infinite loop, stalling the opponent, and making the opponent unable to attack.
- Vengeful Bog Spirit can combo well with Blizzard Dragon for stall.
- Vengeful Bog Spirit can also be used with Koa'ki Meiru Ice in a stun deck based on stall with Continuous Spell Cards.
