- This card can be searched via "Sangan", "Last Will", "Mystic Tomato", "Reinforcement of the Army", "Field-Commander Rahz", "Freed the Matchless General", "Elemental Hero Stratos", "Soul Rope", and "Dark General Freed".
- "Convulsion of Nature" will show you when a Spell card is on top of your Deck. Combine this with "Card Trader". You'll not only see the top card of your deck, but you'll be able to re-shuffle your deck if you want to try to get a Normal Spell Card onto the top of your deck to be used for Diamond Dude's effect (and you'll be able to return the unusable Normal Spell cards to the deck as well).
- Since costs and activation requirements are not paid, or do not have to be met, using cards such as "Destiny Draw" or "Magical Stone Excavation" will get you free cards. "Primal Seed" also works, even without either of "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" or "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End" in your Deck.
- Also, you can activate cards like "Ojama Delta Hurricane!!" without the "Ojamas", "Des Croaking" without the Des Frogs, "Short Circuit" without Batterymen, "Mega Ton Magical Cannon" with no Spell Counters, "Dark Magic Attack" and "Thousand Knives" without "Dark Magician", "Bonding - H2O" without "Oxygeddon" and "Hydrogeddons", and "Burst Stream of Destruction" without "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"
- "Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude" works well with "Plaguespreader Zombie".
- "Big Eye" can help you get the cards you want on top of your deck.
- "Shooting Star Bow - Ceal" and "Heart of Clear Water" can be used to keep this card on the field and having a 400 direct damage each turn.
- Put a copy of "Final Destiny" in your deck, then if you send the card to the grave with the ability of Diamond dude you won't have to discard and if you have "Clock Tower Prison" in your field you will make a direct attack with Destiny Hero - Dreadmaster.
- Diamond Dude works well with Crystal Beasts, since you can use Crystal Abundance without having to send all of your crystal beasts to the graveyard.
- A word of note: Diamond Dude WILL NOT activate spells in such a way that spell counters will be generated. The wording on Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude says that "you can activate its effect", which does not mean the same thing as regular "activate". In simple terms, the effect, NOT THE CARD (which is required for spell counter generation given the current cards) will be activated. (Then again, you don't pay costs or need to fulfill requirements on the cards that you can activate.)
- Use practical normal spells with a cost/activation requirement that's possible to fulfill in your deck, like Lightning Vortex so that you do not get stuck if you draw them. For example, Destiny Draw is a better choice over The Beginning of the End due to being easily usable without this card's effect. You can also use A Feather of the Phoenix or Pigeonholing Books of Spell to make getting this effect easier.
- Summoner Monk can help you discard a spell should you draw a normal spell at a bad time, like Magical Stone Excavation, while letting you get another copy of this card.
