- When a monster is sent from either player's hand to the GY, this card targets 1 of those monsters in the GY.[1]
- This card cannot be activated during the Damage Step.[1]
- This card can be activated not only when a monster is sent from the hand to the GY by a card effect, but also when a monster is sent from the hand to the GY as the cost to activate an effect.[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: My opponent activates the effect of "Vision HERO Faris" that Special Summons it from the hand, by discarding a "Vision HERO Vyon" from their hand. In this situation, when can I activate "Consolation Prize"?
- A: If a monster is sent from the hand to the GY as the cost of activating another card effect as in this scenario, "Consolation Prize" cannot be activated by chaining to that card effect. After that activated effect resolves, "Consolation Prize" can be activated in a new Chain.
