Card Tips:Tsukuyomi
- This card can be searched by "Resonator Engine", "Vampire Dragon", "Dark General Freed" and "Creeping Darkness".
- Combine this card with "Mask of Darkness" to continuously return "Drastic Drop Off" and create the Lockdown for your opponent's Draw Phase, similar to "Yata-Garasu".
- You can use this card effectively with monsters that destroy cards when they are flipped up, like "Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter" and "Snowman Eater". By destroying a card, then summoning this card to flip them face-down again, you can clear the field of problematic cards for a potential direct attack turn-after-turn.
- Like all Spirit monsters, use this card with "Creature Swap" to take one of your opponents' monsters, only to have "Tsukuyomi" returned to your hand at the end of the turn.
- This card and other Spirit monsters can be used to easily counter the effect of "Light and Darkness Dragon". Since returning Spirit monsters to the hand during the End Phase is obligatory, "Light and Darkness Dragon" will negate the activation again and again until its ATK is too low to negate.
- Use this card to abuse the weaker DEF of higher Level monsters, such as "Dark Armed Dragon" and "Caius the Shadow Monarch". Once these monsters have been flipped face-down, they can easily be destroyed by battle by this card.
- This card can also destroy problematic high-ATK Level 4 and lower monsters in the same fashion, including "Thunder King Rai-Oh".
- This card can be used in "Wind-Up" Decks, to reuse the effects of "Wind-Up" monsters.
- You can use this card in an Empty Jar Mill Deck to reuse the effects of key cards such as "Morphing Jar" and "Needle Worm". With "Book of Taiyou" in hand, you can mill an extra five cards from an opponent's deck and still have "Tsukuyomi" in your refreshed hand by the End Phase.
- Use this card with "Mecha Phantom Beast Hamstrat" to flip it facedown allowing you to flip it again for an additional two tokens.
Traditional Format
- This card can be searched by "Sangan" and "Witch of the Black Forest".
- Flip up "Mask of Darkness", and return "Time Seal" to your hand. Then set "Time Seal" and continuously do this in a loop (using "Tsukuyomi" to reset "Mask of Darkness") to prevent your opponent from drawing any new cards.
- Flip up "Magician of Faith", and you can continually return powerful spells. Simply reset with "Tsukuyomi".
- Use this card with "Thousand-Eyes Restrict" to flip it face-down after it has turned an opponent's monster into an Equip Card. This will destroy the card currently equipped to it, and allow it to be Flip Summoned, thus resetting the effect and allowing you to do it again.
