  • Like "Rainyan" whose design also features a lightning-bolt motif, this monster's Japanese name, "Raikō" may derive from the word 雷光 ("lightning"), or the thunder-and-lightning god 雷公 ("Leigong") whose name also inspires the Pokemon Raikou. 雷公 (literally "Thunder Lord") is quite likely, given that Rinyan's name could be translated as "Thunder Lady."
