• This is the cover card of Crossroads of Chaos.

• This card appears on the OCG Crossroads of Chaos Sneak Preview playmat, which has become very rare in the United States and Canada.

• This is the first of the Five Dragons, whose effect relates to specific Type and the first to have a specific support card, "Thorn of Malice".

• This is the first of the Five Dragons to be Level 7 instead of 8, as opposed to Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend.

• Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua is the antithesis to this card; Black Rose destroys all cards on the field when it's summoned, where as Ccarayhua destroys all cards on the field when it's destroyed. Also Misty Tredwell (Ccarayhua's user) is Akiza's nemesis.
