  • Yugi next used this card in his Duel against Mokuba Kaiba. This card attacked and destroyed Mokuba's Man-Eating Plant which Mokuba was surprised at. Yugi claims he can't win with cards that don't belong to him. Mokuba summons Krokodilus and uses it to attack this card. This card then destroys "Krkodilus". The duel, at this point, ends prematurely due to Mokuba stealing some of Yugi's star chips and running away.
  • Yugi later uses this card in his duel with PaniK. He first summoned it in Defense Position. On his next turn, Yugi switched it to Attack Position and ordered it to attack. The attack then briefly revealed the monsters PaniK had out at the moment. This card was then destroyed by PaniK's "Barox".
  • Yugi draws this card during his Duel against Mai Valentine, but he doesn't play this card during the Duel.
  • Yugi would use this card again in his duel with Maximillion Pegasus. He would summon it in Defense Position before Pegasus destroyed it with his "Relinquished" who was equipped with Yugi's "Dark Magician".
  • Yugi uses this card again the Legendary Heroes arc. When the flying machine got hit by an attack created by a fiery dragon within the "Castle of Dark Illusions", Yugi summoned this card to save the group and transport them to the castle since the group had already gotten past the barrier that was blocking the castle off from intruders.
  • In episode 103, this card appears in a flashback Téa Gardner has when she remembers Yugi talking about "Maha Vailo" looking similar to him and having a great power inside its effect.
  • When Téa and Serenity go through a park, they see this card under the control of a kid Dueling another kid.
  • In Yugi's duel against the Duel Computer at Kaiba Land while Yugi was using Rick's deck, Yugi draws this card with "Heart of the Underdog"'s effect, along with six other Dragon monsters. Yugi later discards it and the five other Dragon-type Normal Monsters that he drew, so that "Spirit Ryu" would gain 1000 ATK for each Dragon discarded.
  • This card's attack is called "Fiery Cannonballs" 「火球の飛礫」 in the Japanese anime and manga, and simply "Fireball" in the English versions).

Naming

  • In the English dubs, the "#1" was edited out of the name so it became simply, "Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress."
  • In the Spanish dub, this card was known as "Dragón Alado, Guardián de la Fortaleza".
