OCG Rulings
- The effect "If you have a "Magician" or "Performapal" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy this card, and if you do, place 1 "Magician" Pendulum Monster from your Deck in your Pendulum Zone, except "Wisdom-Eye Magician"." starts a Chain Link. (It does not target. It can only be activated during your Main Phase.)[1]
- "destroy this card" and "place 1 "Magician" Pendulum Monster from your Deck in your Pendulum Zone, except "Wisdom-Eye Magician"." are resolved simultaneously.[1]
- Placing a "Magician" Pendulum Monster in your Pendulum Zone is not treated as activating a Spell Card. (It is placed directly in your Pendulum Zone by the effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician".)
- The effect "You can discard this card, then target 1 card in your Pendulum Zone, whose current Pendulum Scale is different from its original Pendulum Scale; its Pendulum Scale becomes its original Pendulum Scale until the end of this turn." is an Ignition Effect that is activated from the hand. (It targets 1 Pendulum Monster in your Pendulum Zone. Discarding "Wisdom-Eye Magician" is a cost to activate this effect.)[1]
- This effect can target a "Timegazer Magician" affected by its "Unless you have a "Magician" card or "Odd-Eyes" card in your other Pendulum Zone, this card's Pendulum Scale becomes 4." effect, or a Pendulum Monster affected by "Pendulum Shift".[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: You control "Wisdom-Eye Magician" and "Nobledragon Magician" in your Pendulum Zones. If the Pendulum Effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician" is activated, is the Pendulum Effect of "Nobledragon Magician" to destroy itself applied during the resolution of that effect?
- A: When the Pendulum Effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician" resolves, the "Wisdom-Eye Magician" in the Pendulum Zone is destroyed, and a "Magician" Pendulum Monster is placed from the Deck into the opened Pendulum Zone. In this case, since this is a situation in which you do not control a "Magician" card in your other Pendulum Znoe, the Pendulum Effect of "Nobledragon Magician" is also applied. Therefore, as a result of the resolution of the Pendulum Effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician", "Wisdom-Eye Magician" is destroyed and "Nobledragon Magician" is also destroyed. After the Pendulum Effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician" resolves, the only card in your Pendulum Zones is the Pendulum Monster placed from your Deck in your Pendulum Zone by the Pendulum Effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician".[2]
- Q: If I activated "Pendulum Call" this turn, can I activate the Pendulum Effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician"?
- A: "Pendulum Call" cannot be activated if you have already activated the Pendulum Effect of a "Magician" Pendulum Monster, but after activating it you can still activate the Pendulum/Monster effects of "Magician" Pendulum Monsters. In this scenario, you can activate the effect of "Wisdom-Eye Magician", but because the effect of "Pendulum Call" prevents "Magician" cards in your Pendulum Zone from being destroyed, "Wisdom-Eye Magician" is not destroyed. Therefore, you cannot place another "Magician" Pendulum Monster in your Pendulum Zone from your Deck.[3]
