- This card can be searched via "Witch of the Black Forest", "E - Emergency Call", "Kid Guard" and "Reinforcement of the Army".
- This card can also be summoned from your deck via Hero Signal.
- Combine Stratos with two Elemental Hero Ocean and Fake Hero and you can either get two Heroes or destroy up to 4 backfields.
- Elemental Hero Stratos also works with Skyscraper 2 - Hero City in case it is destroyed, or with Elemental Hero Ocean to get it back to your hand in order to Normal Summon Stratos during your Main Phase 1, either to get an additional "Elemental Hero" into your hand, or to destroy Spell and/or Trap Cards creating major advantage if you can use it more than once.
- This card also works incredibly well in pure Elemental Hero Decks, Destiny Hero Decks or Evil Hero Decks. If you run this card in a Deck as described, you can nearly always get the card you need. Also, since it's effect still activates if it is Special Summoned, you can constantly use Elemental Hero Stratos's effect.
- A popular combo with this card is available when your opponent has a strong monster on the field. You can Normal Summon Elemental Hero Stratos, and then search out Elemental Hero Captain Gold.
- If you have Destiny Draw, you can search out a Destiny Hero of your choice to draw two cards. Useful cards for this are Destiny Hero - Malicious, Destiny Hero - Dasher and Destiny Hero - Departed.
- This card works extremely well with Hero's Bond.
