- Use to recycle searchers like "Super-Nimble Mega Hamster" and "T.G. monsters", single-use support cards like "Effect Veiler", Flip Effect Monsters, and boss monsters like "Dark Armed Dragon".
- "Pot of Avarice" works well with "Magical Merchant", who can fill the Graveyard with monsters.
- This card is very handy in a Lightsworn Deck. You are going to wind up with many monsters in your Graveyard whether you want to or not; this card helps forestall decking out and gets some extra cards in your hand in the process. However, by returning the Lightsworns, you could make it harder to Summon their ace monster, "Judgment Dragon", unless it was milled.
- Use this card in Fabled/Dark World Decks, since your Graveyard will fill quickly.
