- This card is recommended to be used in a Blue-Eyes Deck, a Red-Eyes Deck, or any Dragon-type deck that uses high level dragons like "Felgrand Dragon".
- This card makes a great combo with "Masked Dragon" since you can search out "Totem Dragon" with it. Then you can tribute it for a bigger monster during your turn such as "Tyrant Dragon".
- This is a good card to have in your graveyard late game. That way, if you draw a high level monster and you have no monsters to tribute for it, "Totem Dragon" can keep it from turning into a dead draw.
- This card can be special summoned with the effect of "Debris Dragon". That way, you can still have a monster on the field when you Special Summon this card and you won't have to remove "Totem Dragon" from play. Plus, you can use it for the Synchro Summon of a level six monster like "Iron Chain Dragon".
