Summoning panel from Chapter 172, showing Dark Yugi announcing its full title
  • This card's name is derived from the full title given to "Buster Blader" when it first appeared in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel 172 (Duelist Duel 113): "Summon the Nightmare" and in the original Japanese version of Yu-Gi-Oh! episode 06767: "Mime Control, Part 3".
    • This card's Japanese name adds an extra dash, changing it from (竜破壊の剣士 バスター・ブレイダー) to (竜破壊の剣士-バスター・ブレイダー).
    • The English version of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga translates this title to "The Dragon Slayer... Buster Blader".
  • Unlike other Fusion Monsters that require specifically named Fusion Materials, this card specifies the number of such Fusion Materials required, as seen where it lists 1 "Buster Blader" as a Fusion Material.
  • While this monster's actual base form lore-wise ("Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster") resembles "Buster Blader" from its second OCG/TCG artwork, this monster's armor design resembles the latter from its first OCG/TCG artwork.
