- "Despair from the Dark" has the highest DEF of all Zombie-Type monsters.
- In all of it's anime appearances, this card has never actually been summoned, only discarded.
- This monster is essentially the monster in the "The End of Anubis" covered in darkness, notice the fur like projections and the shape and colour of the arms of both monsters.
- Interestingly though, we can see in "Zombie World" that even when viewed from a different angle, Despair from the Dark remains looking like a demonic apparition, not so much as the beast from "The End of Anubis".
