- The first effect of "Grinder Golem" is similar to that of "Lava Golem". Also, both are Fiend-Type monsters, and include "Golem" in their name.
- In the anime, this card did not include the restriction of preventing a player from Summoning in the same turn.
- This card and "Triangle Warrior" are similar in various ways:
- Both have effects that are based on a "two for one" trade (the latter must be Special Summoned by its own effect).
- "Grinder Golem" gives the Summoner two of its token, and is summoned on the opponent's side of the field.
- "Triangle Warrior" is Special Summoned to the controller's side, while two tokens are generated on the opponent's field.
- "Grinder Golem" is a DARK Fiend-Type monster, while "Triangle Warrior" is a LIGHT Warrior-Type monster.
- Both have effects that are based on a "two for one" trade (the latter must be Special Summoned by its own effect).
