- This card seems to have been Xyz Summoned by using both "Mermail Abyssmegalo" and "Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon". This is evident in that the lower half of this monster has the lower half of Poseidra; Poseidra's trident-shaped tail has also become this monster's trident.
- This card is based off of the Greek god Poseidon.
- "Poseidra", one of the Xyz Materials, is also based off Poseidon.
- The neck bracelet of "Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon" appears as an armband in this card's artwork, and also appears in the artwork of "Abyss-strom".
- Interestingly, this card's silhouette also appears in the commercial of Structure Deck: Realm of the Sea Emperor, the debut set of "Poseidra".
- This card has a counterpart, "Mermail Abysstrite".
- They share the inverted ATK and DEF of eachother.
- She is also based on the Greek goddess Amphitrite, the wife of Poseidon.
- This card's name is a reference to Gaios, a Greek port. This may reinforce the relation between the sea and the power Poseidon has upon it.
