While I absolutely love dragons, I've found that a purely dragon deck is much too slow to be competitive. In order to speed things up, you'll have to go to more of a caramel or twilight build. Since Disaster Dragons love to operate out of the graveyard, here is what I would suggest you do at the minimum.

Monsters

  • Take out 1 Koa'ki Meiru Drago (most people only run 2), 3 Masked Dragon (too slow), 2 LaDD (great card, but maybe not so in this deck), and 2 Totem (since we're going to a mix, he won't work as well). That's -8 cards.
  • Add in 1 REDMD, 1 Wyvern, 3 Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter, 1 Morphing Jar, and then 2 other dragons (your choice) - Exploder, Delta Flyer, Dodger Dragon, Vice Dragon... the list is endless. You may also want to consider swapping your Prime Material Dragon for a White Night Dragon if you can swing it.
  • One last thought - you are VERY trap heavy, and with Heavy Storm now back in the mix, along with 3 MSTs, you'll need to cut back on traps. You can always give up a trap or two for another monster.

Traps/Spells

Now, other things to consider for your Dark World friend. You have to be careful here, because many of your own effects operate in the graveyard, but here are a few cards to try: Different Dimension Ground (trap); Debunk (trap), Gravekeeper's Watcher (monster), Forbidden Graveyard (spell - be careful with this one), Marionette Mite (monster). You'll have to figure out what to swap out for any of these.

One last thought: if you're having trouble maintaining hand advantage, try working in a Maxx "C". It's something I've been considering for my own dragon deck. And do your best to keep your card count down to 40.

Hope some of that helps. Good luck.--Kungfu-mama(talk) 13:37, September 4, 2011 (UTC)
