Magic power
Magic power (魔力 Maryoku) is a concept in Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories. Spellcasters can to cultivate it in order to perform magic.
Properties
There are two types of magic power; one that forms from life energy and one that flows from one world into another. The latter of which can be used to perform invocation summoning magic, the transport spirits over from the other world.[1]
Individuals possessing magical powers can collect magic power they find flowing in nature or extract it from certain stones. Improper handling, particularly when it is unstable, can result in undesired explosions.[1]
Magic power can be converted into a crystals, which would make it easier to hold and allow people to use its power whenever necessary and for as long as necessary. However such a conversion is a difficult process.[1]
Events
Aleister Crowley studied magic power and formed theories on the different types and invocation summoning magic. Rilliona studied gems and how to extract magic power from them. One day each of them caused explosions while attempting to gather magic power. Each of these caused ripple effects, interfering with Endymion's attempts to crystalize magic power, causing him to fail. Crowley noted that the flow of magic power had become more unstable than usual.[1]
The next day, Crowley was awoken by Korozo, who noted an unusual flow of magic power from another world, which manifested in the form of tadpole-like objects. Crowley, Korozo, Endymion, and Rilliona traced the source of the magic power to a dried-up spring in the forest. The magic power summoned a hostile spirit from the other world, which Korozo managed to quell by absorbing all of the magic power. The absorption of the power caused Korozo to temporarily change shape.[1]
