Korozo is a spirit that accompanies Aleister Crowley, the only person who can see them. They communicate only by saying "koro" (コロ).

Design[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Personality[edit]

Korozo is a quirky and excitable spirit. He is the companion of Crowley and has been with him since he was born. Korozo accompanies Crowley wherever he goes, watching whenever Crowley studies or uses his magic in different ways, and alerts him whenever oddities appear. Korozo is also protective of Crowley, as during the latter's early years, Korozo protected Crowley from wild animals until Crowley's adopted grandfather took him in. During the events where the otherworldly spirit appeared, Korozo exhausted himself to defeat the rampaging spirit until it was gone.

Abilities[edit]

Much of Korozo's abilities are unknown. What is known is that he is capable of flight, can sense disturbances in mana, and can utilize magic to keep away wild animals for days on end. Korozo can also absorb large amounts of mana, which can allow him to transform into something else altogether. Though it's unknown just what the new transformation allows him to do, as he reverted back due to exhaustion.

Biography[edit]

Korozo protecting the infant Crowley

As a baby, Aleister Crowley was left in a forest, where Korozo protected him for days on end, until he was found by a scholar, who became a surrogate grandfather.[1]

Korozo stuck by Crowley through his life, with Crowley being the only person who could see them. Crowley would sometimes be mistaken as being talking to himself when speaking to Korozo or people would dismiss Korozo as being imaginary.[1]

Korozo flew alongside Crowley as he climbed a rock structure to a flowery meadow on top, where a lot of life energy was being gathered. They tried gathering magic power up there that they could use to form some impressive magic. However an explosion like reaction occurred as they tried to gather too much. They returned to Graybeard afterwards, where Endymion scoffed at Crowley's theories on other worlds and summoning spirits. Crowley cited Korozo as an example of such a spirit, but Endymion called them an "imaginary animal". Spoon tried to defend Crowley, but both he and Korozo had fallen asleep at that point.[1]

Korozo changes form

The next morning, Korozo noticed a magic anomaly in the form of tadpole-like items and woke up Crowley. Accompanied by Endymion and Rilliona they went to the source of the anomaly at a dried-up spring. Crowley identified the magic power present as being from another world and attempted to contain it within a magic circle. However by drawing the tadpole-like items together, they merged and took the form of a spirit summoned from another world. The spirit engaged in battle with them and launched a magical blast at Crowley, Endymion, and Rilliona. However Korozo flew in to intercept the blast and absorb all the otherworldly magic, causing the other spirit to disappear. It transformed Korozo into a much larger darker being, before then reverting to their original form and collapsing into Crowley's hands.[1]

Korozo became less lively following the transformation, spending less time hanging out with Crowley in favor of resting.[2]
