Spoon (スプーン Supūn) is a character in the Magistus arc of the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories manga.

Design

Personality

Spoon is a kind and compassionate human. Despite being of royal lineage, like Endymion, Spoon believed that magic power should be used for the good of the people. Spoon was capable of showing empathy and was willing to lend a hand. It's through this he met Zoroa where over time he supported Zoroa during the latter's troubling years at school. Once the two became friends and Spoon prevented Zoroa from murdering people, he left with Zoroa to find a new land in order to create Greybeard to help others like them. The two being very close and spoke with each other fondly.

With the creation of Greybeard, Spoon shows to be very supportive of other magic users and their studies, such as Aleister. Spoon is also very humble, believing that just because one had magical power doesn't mean they should rely on it for everything. Chiding Rilliona for constantly using magic power for basic things, much to her frustration.

Abilities

Much about Spoon's abilities remain unknown. Spoon admitting he doesn't have much magic in the first place and doesn't use it often. However, Spoon does hold a unique ability to see others magical power swirling around them. This allows Spoon to detect how much magical power a person has compared to others. Capable of even distinguishing that Zoroa's magical power wasn't actually his own.

Spoon held a Magic-absorbing charm that his parents gave him which could absorb magic on the user. A one-of-a-kind charm made to ensure Spoon's magical powers never went out of control. To help Zoroa, Spoon used it to absorb much of the former's magical energy until the charm could hold no more, which Spoon keeps safetly.

Spoon's spells include:

• Gateway: A very rare and unique spell that lets Spoon open a portal to wherever he wants. He claims it's a spell that only he knows.

Biography

Spoon and Zoroa founded the town Graybeard, as a haven for spellcasters, at a time when people were fearful or disdainful towards spellcasters. The town was to be as a place where spellcasters would be free to conduct their magic research safe from oppression.

At a banquet in Graybeard, Spoon called Endymion a noble soul for abdicating his royal succession in favor of pursuing his magical research to improve people's lives. He also expressed fascination in Aleister Crowley's research and thought it was important for magic to be used for the good of people, reminding Crowley that his grandfather used to say that too. However Crowley had fallen asleep at that point. Endymion sighed and wondered where Crowley came from, prompting Spoon to recall the history of him being found in the woods and adopted.
