Duplicate pics

Hi Golden Key. When you upload PNG card images of card images that already exist in JPG, could you change the instances, please? Please, don't get me wrong, but you are an admin; that means you have access to the queue and to the delete tools. So if you upload OjamaBlack-DP2-JP-C.png while OjamaBlack-DP2-JP-C.jpg already exists, could you please update the links and delete the old one? Usually, you leave the images floating there meaninglessly, since they can't be reached from any page (except Special pages), and users like Igor or Cardsknower are the ones who will then change the instances and tag the now obsolete one for deletion, when you could have done a clean job from the start. Again, don't get me wrong, Golden Key; I know you could be easily mad at me, because you are an admin and I'm just some random guy.
I'm asking this, because, as you probably know, I deal a lot with pics and I've been re-uploading some as PNG. And I've found several duplicate pics, one at one place, other at other place, that date two~three years ago and the PNG ones were uploaded, mostly, by you. So, is there any reason why you don't leave them where they should be and you don't delete the duplicate ones? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 13:53, June 13, 2016 (UTC)

You uploaded this pic two years ago, while there was this one. Until today, no one seems to have realized it. So I ask again: is there any special reason (something I'm not aware of) for you to not change the instances nor delete the duplicate file? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 20:03, June 13, 2016 (UTC)

Igor, Cards and I formed an unsaid symbiosis years ago where I upload images and they put them in galleries if I don't do so within a few hours. That eventually evolved into me not even needing to bother to fix gallery pages, because they'd be put in within a few minutes. They regularly get to things before uploaders have a chance to do so, but I think we all appreciate their enthusiasm to assist. I don't view their work as something they feel obligated to do, but rather them utilizing their time and talents in ways that they know are wanted.
It's good practice to put images we upload into galleries asap, but there are admin-uploaded images that have gone unused for 6+ years, so I don't see an urgency for this. Nor do I know of any actual rule stating a time limit for placing images somewhere.
Also, it wasn't long after I became a mod that I actually went through the 1500+ unused images that we had, and reduced it down to less than 500 through deleting and gallery placing. My priority was making sure that set galleries were complete. I know what a backlog of unused images looks like, and I also know that it has no major affect on the wiki, because as you said, the surplus images are seen nowhere but special pages.
The Wiki is designed for fans to devote any amount of free time they wish to doing any job they desire to do. We admins are no exception, despite having addition tools. I will continue to delete unneeded images at leisure, as I find it easier to do mass deletions periodically rather than individual deletions daily. Cheers. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 13:00, June 14, 2016 (UTC)
Aaaah! My suspicions were that you three had formed an unnamed group several years ago, where you would upload pics, Cardsknower would put them into the gallery and then Igor would complete the gallery. I guess I wasn't too far.
I'm aware and I agree with what you said. But I'm just that type of guy that likes things to be organized. Just that.
Thanks for the explanation, Golden Key. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 13:26, June 14, 2016 (UTC)

Cards without name

Me again, Golden Key. Should card images like this be brought to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia? I've read misprint; It counts as an unofficial misprint. So I guess not, right?
Though, I think that's the only SDMA-SP "Lava Golem" I could find. In that case, may I upload it under the regular file name (I would tag it with {{Poor quality}}, though)? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 12:51, June 15, 2016 (UTC)

Our "policy" towards adding misprints has pretty much been "eh, whatever". It's somewhat of a miracle that we don't have more, but I don't think we regularly want to seek them out. However, you can upload that particular image under -Misprint, since we don't have another SP image.--Golden Key (talkcontribs) 13:28, June 15, 2016 (UTC)

OCG-TCG card image

There were made some improvements to the {{OCG-TCG card image}} so now you just need to use the name parameter. Or in case the card name only has one word (with alphabetical and numerical characters only), you just need to splash it. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 14:55, June 27, 2016 (UTC) —Last edited at 17:39, June 27, 2016 (UTC).

Thanks, hadn't really paid attention to the change. Also, where did you get that B3 image from? --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 15:44, June 27, 2016 (UTC)
You're welcome. In the case of Greenkappa, you could have just used {{OCG-TCG card image}}, literally.
I searched yugioh B3-38 on Google Images and it was the first image that appeared to me (it's from ebay). Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 15:55, June 27, 2016 (UTC)

OW images

Hey Golden Key. A small question: how legitimate is this image? It doesn't seem to have come from yugioh.com. I've seen you deal with this kind of stuff, but I'm not very sure on how to proceed. Since it didn't come from there, thus it's not official, it should perish. Or is it official because it may have come from some place unknown to me? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 21:00, July 8, 2016 (UTC)

My guess is that it's a very well made unoffical proxy. I've seen a few of such high quality before. Asking the uploader about it is of course the best course of action. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 23:21, July 8, 2016 (UTC)
Actually started writing them a message. But then thought of addressing you first, to see if there were other places images like that one could come from.
But done. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 23:39, July 8, 2016 (UTC)
There's the OCG Twitter page, but there's always the copyright or whatever in the bottom right corner, which the image you linked to lacks. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 23:49, July 8, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, indeed.
I'll save that site, to check there as well in the future, just in case.
This image seems like those the ebay sellers usually use for the pre-orders, when scans of the cards don't exist around yet. But this particular one seems better than those. In any way, I asked the user. Hope we'll get an answer.
Thanks for the info, Golden Key. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 23:57, July 8, 2016 (UTC)
Just to let you know I got an answer. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 13:04, July 9, 2016 (UTC)

Rai-Jin watermark

Hey Golden Key. I had tagged RaiJin-CSOC-DE-SR-1E.png with {{Watermark}} because I got the image from here. That corner is not genuine. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 15:26, July 19, 2016 (UTC)

Switched the tag back. Congratulations on becoming an admin. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 15:43, July 19, 2016 (UTC)

Card sub pages

Yeah, sorry about that. The template said to null edit the subpages first, then the main card page itself. To my recollection, null editing means to click edit and then save the thing without making any changes to it. So do I null edit the main card page by deleting all the text on it and saving it, then restoring all the text afterwards. (Lucafriz (talkcontribs) 17:21, July 21, 2016 (UTC))

Yeah, I think I got it to work, finally. If I may suggest something, perhaps you should get that notice changed, since it told me to do something differently from what you told me. I can see some people possibly getting confused by it. (Lucafriz (talkcontribs) 17:30, July 21, 2016 (UTC))

"The Last Warrior from Another Planet" LN-26

I'm not sure why you reverted TheLastWarriorfromAnotherPlanet-LN-JP-UPR.jpg. In any case, I uploaded TheLastWarriorfromAnotherPlanet-LN-JP-UPR.png; got it from here. Do you note any problem with it? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 18:21, July 26, 2016 (UTC) —Last edited at 18:27, July 26, 2016 (UTC).

Understood and taken care of. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 18:27, July 26, 2016 (UTC)

How do you do what you did to my list of monsters on my post (turn them into table format) Also, thanks for responding to my post Alpha-L1909 (talkcontribs) 13:47, August 30, 2016 (UTC)

Booster 2 prefix

Hey Golden Key. Why did you enter "SC" as the set prefix for Booster 2? I'd take it it was accidentally, perhaps? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 23:52, September 29, 2016 (UTC)

Copy and paste fail from using the Struggle of Chaos as a template. Yeah, if you see any edits that don't make any logical sense, just assume it was an accident and fix please. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 13:42, September 30, 2016 (UTC)

Vol.7 reprints

Hey Golden Key. Why is this image a reprint? I'd expect the one presented here to be the reprinted one, since it doesn't have the passcode. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 15:11, March 30, 2017 (UTC)

I am rather certain that all of those yugioh-kaitori cards are unofficial proxies. For determining original from reprint, all previous Vol. cards have a shorter copyright in the bottom right corner of the cards. Vol.7 was the last Vol. set; the originals have the same short copyright as previous Vols., but the reprints use the longer one that is still used today. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 03:39, March 31, 2017 (UTC)
Do you have any details about the reprints? Which other Series 1 sets were reprinted in this way (I recall a conversation (I think on Skype) about trying to distinguish between two different sets (IIRC, Starter Box: Theatrical Release and Starter Box), where the copyright line was suggested and then rejected when a counterexample was found)? When were the reprints released, and what were the circumstances? ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 04:26, March 31, 2017 (UTC)
Heh, those conversations were quite a while back. I only did a cursory look-through, but Vol.7 is the only Vol. that seems to have been reprinted. Not speaking Japanese, I wouldn't know where to begin finding out more details about these reprints. I am but a humble image finder. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 04:32, March 31, 2017 (UTC)
All right, fair enough. There's plenty of time in the future for the right person to come along and illuminate matters for us. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:15, March 31, 2017 (UTC)

Request to delete pages

Could you delete the pages Card Gallery:Duel Assembloom and Card Gallery:Dot Scraper as I accidentally misspelled them liked that. It was supposed to be Dual not Duel for first mentioned page and Scaper not Scraper for second mentioned page. I need those pages deleted quickly. Reply when you can!Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 14:45, April 18, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Renaming pages

Yeah, sorry about that. It's just that most of the time I don't feel like moving a bunch of stuff here, as doing it on YCM too is kinda tiring already. --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 19:31, April 27, 2017 (UTC)

RE: Licensing

You know, I had always assumed it worked like that, but never tried it, on the off chance that it actually didn't work like that. Good to finally know, though. Thank you.

Hi there. Long time no see/type :P

I simply wanted to share this with you. I just stumbled across it and I have no time to personally check it myself, so I felt that sharing it with anyone would be a wise move. --AzureKesil (talkcontribs) 02:09, August 20, 2017 (UTC)
