Change in picture dimensions[edit]

Does the change where some of the horns are no longer made visible really count as a different artwork? They changed the layout of OCG cards at one point. They made the ATK and DEF values smaller to make room for longer card effects. The also made the image part smaller. So a bit at the top and bottom of "Obelisk's" artwork got cropped so it would fit. I'm not sure this counts as a change in artwork. Counting it as one means every card that was reprinted since the change in layouts had a change in artwork. -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:33, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

I agree with the change of the card format doesn't count as an artwork, but the Illegal OCG Obelisk image is there (as far as I know/can tell) because the crown/horns on "Obelisk's" head are not completely visible in the Illegal TCG/Asian-English version of the card, so the OCG image has to be there to show this change. --Trivi-AM (talk) 19:47, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
I wasn't saying the change in format was the change in artwork. The parts of his horns (and parts of his hands) not being visible is because the newer format uses smaller images. The images are the same width, but the height of the newer one is slightly smaller, so a bit got cropped off the top and bottom for the image to fit in the new format. It's the same with every card that's been reprinted since the change in format. e.g. "The Winged Dragon of Ra" has the top of its wings and the bottom of its feet cropped in the newer layout (old - new) and the top and bottom of "Buster Blader" are cropped (old - new). More commonly, they add an extra bit to the left and right, for example "Dark Magician" (old - new). -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:40, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

BP02 Proxy[edit]

Is there a reason that the proxy with the anime art is not being used on Obelisk's page while The Winged Dragon of Ra and Slifer the Sky Dragon both have their respective proxy's posted? - Axel Shiokawa (talkcontribs) 01:21, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

Obelisk already got his errata updated before Ra and Osiris got their. I don't know why they just decided to left this one alone while they went ahead and post their old artworks into the Legal frame... --iFredCat 01:29, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
A user briefly changed the picture for "Obelisk" before I reverted it. The reason why neither "Slifer" nor "Obelisk" have the proxy images up is because because A) we already have a picture of an actual English card and B) there are no errata changes in the proxy card. Once the actual card is released, we can then put a picture of that on the card page. ("The Winged Dragon of Ra", on the other hand, had an errata change on the proxy card, which can be seen here.) --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 01:35, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
Ah really? Last time I heard, we always using the latest, current image of those cards - ignored the fact of errata or rarity difference - to uploading in the articles. --iFredCat 01:36, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, but the proxies are not real cards, and are also often blurry. There is no need to put a proxy image up unless it's an entirely new card, or there is something new in the effect text. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 01:39, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
Well that just takes care of what I was wondering about. Though the proxies were not that blurry in my opinion. Not that it will change policy. Just have to wait for the set to drop now. - Axel Shiokawa (talkcontribs) 04:52, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
