Card Rulings:Pseudo Space
OCG Rulings
- The effect "Once per turn: You can banish 1 Field Spell Card from your Graveyard; until the End Phase, this card's name becomes that card's original name, and replace this effect with that card's original effects" makes a Chain Link. (It can only be activated during the player's Main Phase.)[1]
- Banishing a Field Spell Card in your Graveyard is a cost in order to activate the effect of "Pseudo Space".[1]
- The effect of "Pseudo Space" applies on the field. Because the effect of "Pseudo Space" is not applied when it leaves the field, the effect of "Geartown" when it is destroyed and the effect of "Brain Research Lab" when it leaves the field are not activated.[1]
- If "Pseudo Space" has gained the effects of "Geartown", the effect "Both players can Normal Summon "Ancient Gear" monsters for 1 less Tribute" can be applied. However, because the effect "When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Ancient Gear" monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard" can only be activated when it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, it cannot be activated or applied.[2]
- During a Duel in which "The Seal of Orichalcos" has already been activated, the effect "Once per turn: You can banish 1 Field Spell Card from your Graveyard; until the End Phase, this card's name becomes that card's original name, and replace this effect with that card's original effects" of "Pseudo Space" be activated by banishing "The Seal of Orichalcos" from your Graveyard. If you do, until the End Phase its name is treated as "The Seal of Orichalcos", and the effects "All monsters you control gain 500 ATK. [...] You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck" and "While you control 2 or more face-up Attack Position monsters, your opponent cannot target your monster(s) with the lowest ATK for an attack" are applied. (Because it is not treated as activating the card "The Seal of Orichalcos", the effect "If this card is activated: Destroy all Special Summoned monsters you control" is not applied.)[3]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Toadally Awesome: Even while "Pseudo Space" is already in the player's Field Zone, if the opponent activated "Chicken Game", the monster effect of "Toadally Awesome" can be activated. In that case, the activation of "Chicken Game" is negated and it is destroyed. If "then you can Set it to your field" is applied, "Pseudo Space" in the player's Field Zone is sent to the Graveyard, and "Chicken Game" that had its activation negated and was destroyed is Set in the player's Field Zone.[4]
- Shiranui Solitaire: If the name of "Pseudo Space" is treated as "Shiranui Style Synthesis", because it is treated as if ""Shiranui Style Synthesis" is on the field", you can target up to 2 monsters with the monster effect of "Shiranui Solitaire". (Furthermore, even in that case, you can also target 1 monster with the monster effect of "Shiranui Solitaire".)[5]
