Card Rulings:ZERO-MAX
TCG Rulings
- You cannot negate ZERO-MAX with Stardust Dragon's effect because it is uncertain whether or not it will destroy anything.[1]
- If ZERO-MAX is the only card in your hand, you cannot activate it. You must Set it, and then activate.[1]
- The effect of ZERO-MAX Special Summons your "Infernity" monster then destroys monsters. Your opponent cannot use Bottomless Trap Hole or Torrential Tribute, even if you destroy no monsters.[1]
- You destroy monsters on the field with less ATK than the Special Summoned monster's current ATK, including any bonuses from Field Spells or Continuous Effects.[1]
- You can activate ZERO-MAX even if there are no monsters on the field.[1]
OCG Rulings
- "ZERO-MAX" cannot be activated from your hand. During the Main Phase 1 of your turn, if you have no cards in your hand, you can activate a "ZERO-MAX" that is Set in the Spell & Trap Zone.[2]
- "You cannot conduct your Battle Phase during the same turn you activate this card" is not treated as an effect.[2]
- The effect is applied as usual even if you no longer have 0 cards in your hand when the effect resolves.[2]
- Q: Can the effect of "Stardust Dragon" be activated in Chain to the activation of "ZERO-MAX"?
- A: If there is a face-up monster on the field with ATK less than the original ATK of the monster targeted to activate "ZERO-MAX", since a monster on the field would be destroyed by the effect of "ZERO-MAX", the effect of "Stardust Dragon" can be activated in Chain.
Also, if there are no face-up monsters on the field with ATK less than the original ATK of the monster targeted to activate "ZERO-MAX", since no monster on the field would be destroyed by the effect of "ZERO-MAX", the effect of "Stardust Dragon" cannot be activated in Chain.[3]
