Card Tips:De-Fusion
- This card can be searched by "Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra", "Predaplant Chimerafflesia", "Synchro Fusionist", "Kahyoreigetsu", "Sabatiel - The Philosopher's Stone", "Evil Mind", "Supreme King Gate Zero", "Cyberdark Inferno", "Spell Calling", "Quick Booster", "Miracle of the Supreme King", "Mecha Phantom Beast Jaculuslan", and other generic searchers.
- Keep in mind Konami has ruled that this card can only work with Materials that still match up with the requirements of the Fusion Monster. For example, it won't work with "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon" because "2 DARK monsters on the field" logically cannot be in the Graveyard.
- While this card can return Fusion Monsters from any side of the field to the Extra Deck, it only brings back material from your GY. If you target an opponent's Fusion Monster, it goes back to their Extra Deck but they won't get their Material back. You also avoid triggering any "leave the field" effects of that monster.
- If your opponent Summoned a Fusion Monster using your cards through "Super Polymerization", or took control of your Fusion Monster, this card can get all your Material back.
- During your Battle Phase, after you attack with a Fusion Monster and its Fusion Materials are in your Graveyard, use "De-Fusion" (still in your Battle Phase) to Special Summon them to your side of the field and attack your opponent. It is recommended that the Fusion Materials have high ATK to get as much damage as possible (e.g. Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon).
- In an "Elemental HERO" Deck, you can also use this strategy to get extra uses of on-Summon monster effects, like "Elemental HERO Stratos" or "Elemental HERO Blazeman". Bear in mind that it doesn't work on cards summoned by "Mask Change".
- With a "Gem-Knight" Deck, follow up with "Pyroxene Fusion" to re-fuse the monsters and get another attack for the Battle Phase.
