- This is a possible reference to Joey Wheeler, as both monsters are Fusion Material for "Flame Swordsman", one of his trademark cards, with the character in "Heart of the Underdog" also resembling him.
- The cards indicate that the Deck depicted is a Normal Monster Deck, as "Masaki the Legendary Swordsman" and "Flame Manipulator" are both Normal Monsters and "Heart of the Underdog" is an excellent support card for Normal Monsters.
