Seeing that there hasn't been any discussion on the topic yet.... What do you guys think about the results of YCS Long Beach? I thought it was really great that so many innovative decks did well in the top 16. For some reason I feel like there was a wider variety of decks, and a stronger prevalence of creativity in the decks that topped.

I particularly liked Wilson Tsang's Wind-Up Beast Deck, and how he used Mischief of the Yokai. I feel like it signalled a dawn for a much more innovative and creative age in yu-gi-oh. What did you guys think about the event? Trak0don (talkcontribs) 19:10, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

Don't know anything about it outside of the final batch being a Rabbit deck and a Dark World deck.

I'm surprised the dude who won could even win with that deck. I tried a similar deck and it was destroyed before I even got to do anything with it, so I dismantled it.

Well, every card choice makes a difference on how the deck is run. He used really interesting choices like Malefic Stardust Dragon and two copies of Tour Guide From the Underworld. The deck was totally based on control, and people weren't prepared for it. It isn't ridiculous that he won. 148.100.224.97 (talk) 15:53, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

Man, it is so hard to make a deck and know if you have made it good. You could duel 100 people thinking your deck is great, and then you get that 101st person that completely destroys your deck in 30 seconds, bringing you back step one.

You can't win all of 'em. If you have a 100:1 win/loss ratio, you're either the best duelist alive, or you only duel against 5 year olds. I think the best thing you can do is, instead of scrapping the decks, keep testing and then work on the side deck.

At least when I build a deck, I figure out that the CORE components are (usually between 15-25 cards and then stack awesome tech choices in the deck as well.) Having a good side deck is also important to beating those random decks! Trak0don (talkcontribs) 01:50, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Well I was just using it as an example. I want my deck to be unbeatable like the people on DN have.

As for my side deck, this is my side deck:

It's pretty much covers everything.

No deck is unbeatable, and it's not that difficult to beat random decks, just pack in cards that can be used to attack the meta and random decks, like "Nordic Relic Laevateinn", which can be used to fight Dino-Rabbit, but also, say Gladiator Beasts. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 13:26, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

The only way to win a tournament (especially with that many players) is to have an unbeatable deck though.
