Forum:1 Limiter removal = Quadruple damage?

Me and my friend were dueling and he attacked my scrap dragon (2800 atk) with green gadget (1400 atk) he activated "limiter removal" in the damage step and i chained with "face-off", his argument was that due to the most recent errata (sixth in english is the one involved) limiter doubles the atk points twice, once in activation and once when it resolves. meaning that it would quadruple the atk points if it isnt negated but since it was negated, it (limiter) only doubles it. my argument is that because the activation is negated by face-off, its double atk during activation is explicitly negated and its other doubling effect when it resolves cannot be used because the activation was negated meaning it can't resolve.

(destruction effect is not part of the argument)

so... if limiter removal is negated, is the attack doubled? or is there no change in the atk points of green gadget? Djr20011 (talkcontribs) 09:46, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

If it's negated, Green Gadget will remain at its ATK from before Limiter Removal. Also, it doesn't double ATK twice: the wording states that it doubles the ATK of all face-up Machines you controlled at the activation and resolution of this card. This means that the machines must have had to have been on the field when Limiter Removal was activated and when it was resolved to receive the ATK boost. For example, Chaining Call of the Haunted to Limiter Removal and reviving a machine would mean that that machine wouldn't get the ATK boost as it wasn't on the field when Limiter Removal was activated. That's all there is to it. It doesn't double twice, nor at activation. Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 09:58, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
Your friend is a (bad) liar. He's implying that doubling the ATK is a cost to activate "Limiter Removal", which then has the effect of doubling ATK again. That's just ridiculous. "Limiter Removal" has the effect of doubling ATK at resolution. If it's negated, no ATK is gained from it, period.--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 13:55, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
