Forum:All reptile Alien Deck rate?

Works very smoothly. This is probably my favorite and most reliable alien deck so far. The strategy is simple: win; probably with Gol'gar(s). The deck uses both destruction and brainwashing for variety, unlike most of my past decks which would tend to only focus on one. With 3 Code A Ancient Ruins and the great deck synergy, getting out my powerful Gol'gar swarm combo is a breeze and happens nearly every game. Note about the Razor Lizard: since every monster in the deck is reptile, this little guy comes in handy easily with snake whistle to search him out and solidarity to power him up (for protection). I'm pretty happy with it, but I would welcome advice about card quantity ratios, etc.--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 03:29, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

I'm definately not an expert on Aliens, but I do know that Crop Circles can probably go. Alien Shocktrooper and Razor Lizard should also be replaced.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 05:09, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

it aint a bad build but i would personally base it more on the aliens rather than some odd reptile monsters in it.

the monsters are alright except for the odd ones like razor lizard and hypno as i have found out about mother it can be a dead draw most of the time and hypno is very tempromental sonce you have to summon it again for its effect

+ 2/3 alien telepath (if you can tech it in somewhere)

+ alien grey

+ 2 shock trooper

- alien hypno

- razor lizard

- alien mother

the spells aint that bad an idea would be to put vipers rebirth in to let you get gol'gar or any other useful alien out when you need it the most. mysterious triangle can be a good card aswell since you can destroye one monster with a counters on it to get out a 4 star alien till the end turn (can be helpful to get gol'gar out if you dont have a 4 star alien in the grave)

+ 2 vipers rebirth

+ 2/3 mysterious triangle

- mystical space typhoon

now some of those traps are a bit pap e.g brain washingbeam. crop circles has its advantage to be able to beat the living tar out of your opponent but thats about it plus it can leave you 2000 life point down if you have no targets for it. snake whistle aint that bad but its just as tempromental i would swap them out and put in offering to the snake deity to add to your destruction effects. you might want to add another planet pollutant virus since it can be a small torrential tribute and a good a counter spreader

+ planet pollutant virus (good in threes to help get to it when you need it)

+ 2 offering to the snake deity

- crop circles

- snake whistle

Well, IMO Crop Circles is a damn good card for so many reasons, and Snake Whistle can combo with Alien Brain hilariously by using their now reptile stolen monster to search when they try to kill it, or with that reptile Razor Lizard can keep using its effect to pop facedowns (which I run into enough for him to be useful). I agree that Alien Mother and Shocktrooper are kinda iffy, but the show is mainly run by my three Gol'gar's, which provide ample destruction, reviving with Code A Ancient Ruins, and counter distribution for Mother and Hypno to take advantage of. Since I have run different Alien decks many times in the past, I knew that Mysterious Triangle and Alien Telepath would work kinda against the strategy of abusing the counters with Gol'gars and control cards like BW Beam because Mysterious Triangle kills the monster holding the counters and Telepath removes the counters. Out of curiosity, why did you suggest another Alien Grey? I thought people would suggest that I remove mine because they're "too slow."--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 14:03, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

I can't believe I have actually agreed to take out Crop Circles... I guess it just doesn't work so well here... but Snake Whistle is definitely staying. It is possibly the best search power in this all-reptile deck. Why I added Divine Wrath: I noticed that too many of my defensive traps required me to have a monster on the field to activate (meaning I would be stuck if I didn't have one, and I occasionally don't), so I stuck this in to deal with the many effect monsters that I don't like. I am open to changing D Wrath to something else that doesn't require monsters, maybe Bottomless or T Roar, but I wouldn't like another Offering or Planet Pollutant too much.--SantaOrc26

Get rid of the cards that manipulate. It's either a swarming Alien deck or a manipulating Alien deck. Mixing them doesn't work as good as a solid focusing deck.--Yugioh DED (talkcontribs) 19:03, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I just had an idea that I think would successfully incorporate both swarming and manipulating in one deck. It would be designed to abuse the reptile support like Alien Brain, Offering to the Bound Deity, Snake Whistle, Solidarity, etc. while using a reptile archetype (probably Aliens) as the monster base. I'll be working on it.--SantaOrc26

New Idea

While dueling one of my friends, I noticed some really cool combos involving Alien Brain, Snake Whistle, and Solidarity that I really wanted to expand on. This is mainly because of Alien Brain's nifty effect of changing the type of the stolen monster into Reptile, allowing me to continue use of many reptile-requiring effects even with my opponent's monsters: not only would I steal his monster, but it would also get a boost from my Solidarity and I could remove it to summon Evil Dragon, and if he tried to destroy it, I could use Offering to destroy his cards and/or Snake Whistle it off to bring out another Reptile; or I could even use another Alien Brain to steal another monster! Now, the deck is much more reptile based; it is essentially a Reptile deck utilizing Aliens. For once, I can actually use do something with Gol'gar if would be destroyed since it is a reptile (Snake Whistle, Alien Brain, OTTSD), when I couldn't before because it is not an Alien (Crop Circles, PPV, Code A Ancient Ruins)! I am looking for 4 more Reptile monsters and considering maybe 2 Alien Shocktroopers...? Tell me how you think and provide suggestions plz!--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 17:24, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

If you're willing to use OCG cards, try Lion Alligator. Runer5h (talkcontribs) 17:29, July 8, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Too bad I don't use OCG, because that card would be absolutely perfect... Any way of finding out when it will be released in TCG?--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 17:48, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

How about The Tyrant Neptune? I can tribute my opponent's monsters for its effect and it gets a solidarity boost as well.--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 21:33, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Update: added in 2 Shocktroopers and 2 Dogs. With the 3 solidarities, the deck is definitely designed to beat the tar out of the opponent, and after a few practice duels, it seems to work well so far. Is it worth it getting the second Offering to the Snake Deity, or could I stick with one and a Planet Pollutant Virus? Opinions?--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 00:36, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
