Forum:Am I being mean If I refuse to play against someone using "all" fake cards?

I need other people's opinion on this matter... Am I being mean if I refuse to play against someone using "all" fake cards? All of my cards are real and it is extremely difficult to get the cards that I need in the booster packs. The alternative for me is to pay for individual cards at a trusted website which I frequently visit, but this can get expensive really fast. As far as I am concerned, if you need a card or cards, you have to acquire by website, booster pack, etc... I will not explain myself to someone who insist on playing with their "fake" cards that are extremely difficult to get or are extremely expensive to purchase. Please guys, I need your feedback regarding this matter!

It depends on the situation. If you're playing against friends, then you should let them play with fake cards. But if you're playing against someone you have never seen before (e.g. random dude in local card shop), then (in my opinion), it isn't mean to refuse because they play fake cards. J. Well, as J said, it depends. If you are playing with friends who's not so rich or cant afford to buy real, expensive cards, why not? But personally, i think its annoying if they won using the fake cards and claim that they are better than you after all your effort to construct a deck. Ultimately, its up to you. I agree. As for the friend matter though, if they're being all stuck up and acting like a big shot (kind of like what Holydragoncrusher said) then don't play with them. Otherwise, go for it.--Yugioh DED (talkcontribs) 21:10, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

I do not agree. I play YGO for fun, not to get rid of my money. And the fun is the same, if u play with fake or real cards. And... to get to the "skill" aspect: there would be no difference, at least if both play fake cards, or 1 guy with fake cards vs 1 rich guy (srsly, this is expensive like hell! but that is another topic) --Necaremus (talkcontribs) 22:29, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

It depends: are these "FAKE" cards proxies or are they cards that don't exist? Drew-Gi-Oh! (talkcontribs) 02:16, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

I am sure he mean by this. --FredCat100 (talkcontribs) 02:49, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

I sincerely apologize for being unclear to what the term "fake" is refering to, here is a clarification of that error and it is in regards to counterfit's of officially released cards. I am talking about "making your own cards" and are purposely passing them off as "being real." Now, assuming that this individual is smart enough to make them look as authentic as possible, this "duelist" has access to every Yu-Gi-Oh! card by clicking the "print" button; not spending a single penny for legitimate cards. This "duelist" defeats many people who actually don't cheat and have "real" cards! Furthermore, this "duelist" goes on to win tournaments and steals the prizes from honest people! Although this scenario is just made up, imagine for a second that it was a real story and that you were the one who lost the duel or prize! Don't get me wrong, I am all for having fun and all, but at least have the courtesy of telling your opponent "all of my cards are fake, but they have all been officially released by Konami." That way, the person with "real" cards only can decide what to do next. Trying / succeeding in deceiving your opponent that you're cards are real will "irritate" a lot of players! I know that this hobby is expensive from first hand experience "Necaremus," and in regards to the situation that you presented, the person whose cards are all "fake" should allow the person with only "real" cards equal access to the library of cards at the "cheaters" disposal. This way "Necaremus," the playing field is fair because the person with only "real" cards now has the cards that they need to complete their dueling decks they way it should be assembled.

I thought u were talking about proxys. In that case i'm on your side. --Necaremus (talkcontribs) 17:46, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Depends on the situation for me personally. If its just between friends I'll let them get away with 1 or 2 especially if they either A: really old cards that are a pain in the ass to come by or B: really new cards that are a pain in the ass to come by. I won't however let them do it if a card has a very complex text or ruling structure. If I can't be able to look at what a cards text is suppose to be I don't like having to deal with the bickering over rulings on it. 68.40.90.212 (talk) 09:21, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Fakes Cards

So called "Fake Cards" can be cards from others countries though like Portugal etc, sometimes you may need a translation handy just incase the person's opponent wants clarification on the translation on the foreign card, also "Fakes Cards" can be like some Obelisk The Tormentor cards i have seen with a strange effects or ATK at Infinity. But it all depends on what you two duelists agree on to be fair, if the person your dueling is new to the game and doesn't have enough money to buy the cards you have i would just be fair and let him play with them. At the end of the day, it's not like your in a tournament duel :P

Well, illegal tournament cards, or printed cards from the internet, it's all the same. I have to admit, the experience is the same when using fake cards, but it all comes down to not letting the person feel like a big shot when he beats you, and gets all in your face when he "owns" you in a duel. Even if the person's poor, they still shouldn't be obnoxious about it. --Yugioh DED (talkcontribs) 16:46, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

By the way, try working on your tildes XD. You have to have FOUR of them at the end, no more, no less.--Yugioh DED (talkcontribs) 16:47, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

This reminds me of the time I dueled a friend who used Dark Master....Drew-Gi-Oh! (talkcontribs) 18:18, July 23, 2010 (UTC)
