Saw this duel play out the other day. How would this situation have ended out?

Player A attacks with BLS-EOTB and destroys a monster Player A activates BLS's effect to attack again Player B plays Forbidden Chalice during the Damage Step

Would BLS's attack continue?

Take a look at Breakdown of the Battle Phase.
"Forbidden Chalice" can be activated during the first 3 sub-steps because it modifies ATK. You can see that from its Rulings too: "Because it modifies ATK, “Forbidden Chalice” can be activated in the Damage Step. But not during damage calculation or any point in the Damage Step after damage calculation."
Since "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning"'s effect activates at the end of the Damage Step (sub-step 7) when the destroyed by battle monster is sent to the Graveyard, it's too late to activate "Forbidden Chalice" then.
So, in order to negate BLS-EOTB's effect during the Damage Step is to activate "Forbidden Chalice" during 1 of the first 3 sub-steps.

You also said "Would BLS's attack continue?" As ATEMVEGETA said, if you don't negate it before damage calculation (when BLS makes its first attack), BLS will be able to make a second attack. Even if you activate "Forbidden Chalice" during the Damage Step of its second attack, that will do nothing to prevent that attack. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 23:15, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
