My opponent has 1 card in hand and uses Evilswarm Bahamut, detaching an xyz material to target my Machina Fortress for control. Machina discards a card from his hand before the effect resolves, so will that happen before the opponent discards for Bahamut?

- By the time your "Machina Fortress" started to activated, your opponent has no card(s) in their hand at that point. "Evilswarm Bahamut" used the discard fodder as Cost since Detach is also Cost. --iFredCat 12:16, June 21, 2013 (UTC)
- The "Discard 1 "Lswarm" monster effect of Bahamut is not a "cost", and your opponent can respond to Bahamut before it discards the Lswarm. The discarding is part of the effect that resolves, so if Machina Fortress discards the only Lswarm you have in your hand before Bahamut can, you won't get control of Fortress. 98.206.70.2 (talk) 16:09, June 21, 2013 (UTC)
- According to Card Rulings:Evilswarm Bahamut, the "Lswarm" monster is discarded at the resolution of Bahamut, so Fortress would discard the card before Bahamut can finish resolving. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:07, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
