I know I cannot activate a card that would cause an infinite loop because its effect cannot resolve completely, but what happen if I play Bait Doll and force active my opponent Royal Decree when I have Jinzo equipped with Amplifier, and Skill Drain on my side?--Lê (talk • contribs) 04:08, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
Then Royal Decree doesn't work. Skill Drain's effect should be negated if Jinzo came first. Fallensilence (talk • contribs) 03:43, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
- How is "doesn't work"? Re-set, negated, destroyed or what?--Lê (talk • contribs) 15:17, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
As Jinzo is on the field, the effect of Royal Decree is negated & cannot be activated, thus by the wording on Bait Doll it has incorrect timing to be activated & is thus destroyed-Resk-15:31, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
if Jinzo is on the field his effect is negates with skill drain. If Jinzo would be first there skill drain could never be activated, so if Skill drain is already on the field Jinzos effect doesn't work... -dest- (talk • contribs) 16:49, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
I need to remember the loops more clearly...
1) Summon Jinzo
2) Amplifier
3) activate Skill Drain -- Rules say No as cause infinate loop?
or!
1) Skill Drain
2) Jinzo
3) Amplifier -- Rules say No as cause infinate loop?
so it's not possible to get into that situation? i think...-Resk (talk • contribs) 16:53, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
So rulings say that this is not allowed? but what if it really happened? dont forget amplifier's effect. and skill drain is already faceup and he bait dolls an opponent's facedown royal decree. what does that mean, (rules say no?) does it say no to the loop? which part of the loop does it say no? all of it? or does it say no to one of the cards in the loop? (what is really the answer?)67.170.58.90 (talk) 17:17, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
I really have no idea of infinit loops that are caused like this. There should be nothing that prevents you from using bait doll because you don't know, that you would cause such a loop... in order the loop to not occour i'd say that royal decree should be simply destroyed... I think I'll just look what wc10 will tell me about this (tomorrow), I got interested^^ -dest- (talk • contribs) 22:58, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Call a judge. Seriously, there's very little on this. Possible outcomes include:
- When "Amplifier" was first released, the ruling was that the duel ends in a draw if that happens. This is most likely dated, since it's from before "Pole Position" gave us an outline.
- "Pole Position" suggests that "Amplifier" explodes.
- "Splendid Venus" and "The Lady in Wight" suggest that you can't "un-negate" an effect if it would cause a loop. In this case, "Skill Drain" will remain negated. (This is my preference.)
- "Bait Doll" won't even be able to make "Royal Decree" become face-up on the field, so "Royal Decree" explodes.
- Take your pick. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 06:03, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
- In WC10 it is the 4th, Royal Decree goes boom! Sure thing is that it isn't the first since no Draw can occur because of an infinite loop. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 08:44, October 16, 2010 (UTC)
