So, someone argued that because Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio is unaffected by other card effects, I cannot stop its attack with Battle Fader or Swift Scarecrow. Is this claim correct? --Gadjiltron (talk • contribs) 09:15, April 16, 2015 (UTC)
I disagree. Cards like Battle Fader don't affect monsters directly, unlike say Negate Attack, rather they affect the player by forcibly ending the Battle Phase. And although Ulti-Apelio is not affected by effects, it is still affected by game rules, which don't allow it to attack outside the Battle Phase.--PoirotH (talk • contribs) 09:22, April 16, 2015 (UTC)
- Swift Scarecrow negates the attack, Battle Fader doesn't.--Lê (talk • contribs) 09:29, April 16, 2015 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, fair point. I thought it simply ended the Battle Phase. Going back to what I said: since Battle Fader doesn't affect the attacking monster directly, it will stop the attack by ending the Battle Phase. But since Swift Scarecrow needs to negate the attack to end the Battle Phase, it will resolve without effect if used against Ulti-Apelio.--PoirotH (talk • contribs) 09:34, April 16, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. This knowledge will change how I defend against Ritual Beasts. --Gadjiltron (talk • contribs) 11:59, April 16, 2015 (UTC)
