I've come up with a genius idea of having Counter Fairies combined with Skill Drain and I just wanted to make sure that Artemis DOES work with Skill Drain. --Tantara 01:07, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

  • I don't think so, I've read up a little by myself and have found that it's a continuous effect. Countinuous effects aren't affected, are they? --Tantara 13:05, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
All types of effects are negated by Skill Drain so long as the monster remains on the field afterwards, so stuff like Stardust Dragon and Exiled Force still work under Skill Drain since they resolve in the grave. --Trivi-AM 13:14, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Continuous effects are effects, with the only differense from the others that do not use a chain! The can be negated by Skill Drain! The only kind of effects that Skill Drain cannot negate are costs and the most conditions.
Effects activate and resolve in the same place. Exiled Force activates its effect on the field. That means it resolves the effect also on the field, regardless where the monster is when its effect resolves. The same for Stardust Dragon! Skill Drain will negate a monster's effect that activates (and resolves) on the field when the monster is still on the field when the effect resolves. Exiled Force is not on the field when its effect resolves, so it will not be negated.

But Skill Drain negates the activation on the field, it doesn't matter if it resolves on the grave, so Exiled Force WILL be negate. Skill Drain does not affect cards wich both activation and resolves are outside the field, just like Giant Rat, Cyber Dragon, Nimble Momonga, etc... — This unsigned comment was made by 189.102.235.152 (talkcontribs) 19:43, 7 August 2009

Wrong, "Skill Drain" cannot negate the effect of "Exiled Force". See Card Rulings:Skill Drain.
"Skill Drain" will negate the effects of monsters on the field. This includes Continuous Effects, and any monster effect which activates on the field, but only if the monster is still on the field when its effect resolves.
The effect of "Exiled Force" activate and resolves on the field. It does not resolve in the Graveyard, or anything like that. However, "Exiled Force" is not face-up on the field when it resolves, so it is not a "monster on the field", so "Skill Drain" will not negate it.
