New Question

Jon0191 (talkcontribs) Can somebody clearly explain what happens through-out the negation process? I will try and set up a scenario. Player A and Player B both have a Stardust Dragon on the Field and it's Player A's Turn. Player A uses Lightning Vortex, Player B chains to the effect of Lightning Vortex with their Stardust Dragon and negates the Lightning Vortex, Player A Chooses to Chain to Player B's Stardust Dragon with their Own Stardust Dragon to negate and Destroy Player B's Stardust Dragon. What happens after-wards? Does the Initial Spell card go into effect? And does Player B's Stardust Dragon come back after the End-Phase or does it stay in the Grave-yard for it's effect was negated and Destroyed? And what would have happened if the same Scenario occurred but Player A had Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode instead, Would Player B's Stardust Dragon remain dead in the Grave then?

As long as the effect destroys card(s) on the field like Stardust Dragon's, you can chain the effect of another Stardust Dragon to that effect. Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode is similar as it negates any effect and destroys that card.-- HHTurtle Talk   16:59, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Taking the scenario into play, the results are as follows:

  • The effect of Player A's Lightning Vortex resolves as normal.
  • During the End Phase, Player A can choose to special summon his Stardust Dragon.
  • During the End Phase, Player B cannot special summon his Stardust Dragon.

Third Stardust

Before someone asks. Note that in this scenario:

Chain Link 1 - Opponent's Lightning Vortex
Chain Link 2 - Your 1st Stardust Dragon (Tributes for Cost)
Chain Link 3 - Opponent's Stardust Dragon (Tributes for Cost)

Chain Link 1 and 2 are trying to destroy cards on the field. Chain Link 3 is not; while it is going to negate the destruction effect, no cards on the field will be destroyed by chain link 3's resolution. So another Stardust Dragon can't be added as chain link 4. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 01:45, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
