The question I have is about the monster that Chain Disappearance designates: "You can only activate this card when a monster with an ATK of 1000 or less is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or Special Summoned."
I understand this, but I am curious about which monsters I can use it on. Let's say that my opponent summons King of the Skull Servants which has atk ? def 0, his original attack is considered to be 0, so does that mean I can use chain disappearance on him since the trap should resolve before his attack boost effect does? Or do I have the order wrong? Does his effect resolve before chain disappearance since chain disappearance does not negate the summon.
Suppose my opponent summons a Batteryman AA which has atk 0 def 0, but my opponent has another batteryman AA on the field, so that batteryman AA would be boosted to 2000 attack. Am I allowed to use chain disappearance on batteryman AA that he has just summoned since his attack is 0 until it is boosted, or again, does his effect resolve before chain disappearance since chain disappearance does not negate the summon.
If there is a proper thread that could explain to me rulings on similar things like this, a link would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. Disruptorbeam (talk • contribs) 23:53, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
The ATK boosts for those monsters are Continuous Monster Effects. These do not Activate or Resolve; they are instantly 'Applied' the moment they hit the Field; before you chain anything. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 00:37, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
To continue with Falzar FZ's answer: Yes, provided that after their Continuous Effects are applied their ATK will by 1000 or less.-- HHTurtle Talk 05:55, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
