Would Consecrated Light stop Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes from attacking? she's not affected by card effects...? NOT FrogtheJam (talkcontribs) 23:27, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

"Neither player can Normal or Special Summon DARK monsters or declare an attack with a DARK monster."

This effect affects the player, not the monster so you still wouldn't be able to attack with Vennominaga.-- HHTurtle Talk   01:52, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

If I'm reading it right, then the OCG text says that "DARK monsters cannot attack, and neither player can Normal/Special Summon DARK monsters". It should affect the monster, so "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes" should be able to attack. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 21:16, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

No--Lord Dolor (talkcontribs) 21:27, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Holy Light does not target a monster. So Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes cannot attack, as long Holy Light is face-up on the Field. - Green gadget

Thanks that's what it looked like but i wanted some other people's points of view NOT FrogtheJam (talkcontribs) 21:37, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes is not affected by traps, spells or effects. It doesn't matter if they target or not. So Vennominaga can attack.--190.42.111.19 (talk) 21:44, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I'd have to agree with the above statement. It should be able to attack. Vennominaga is completely unaffected. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 21:49, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

sorry

I haven't read to end. So Venominaga can attack, but Holy Light cannot be destroyed by battle.

Testing with WC10 also supports that Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes is unaffected by Consecrated Light's effect. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 21:54, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah that one makes more sense because of Vennominaga's blanket immunity NOT FrogtheJam (talkcontribs) 22:11, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

@ Deus Ex Machina: The way it is stated in the Japanese Card Text seem to imply that its effect affects the monster. That is why I'm going with your answer. I hate poor translations.-- HHTurtle Talk   23:47, September 8, 2010 (UTC)
