Forum:Dark World Discard/Disruption Deck

From Yugipedia

I just thought of adding in this side deck, siding into Dark World Gadgets. You mix in standard 1 for 1 cards, while also mixing in cards that trigger Dark World effects for the best of both worlds. Not the best made in my opinion, you can comment on this too if you'd like. :)

Side Deck:

2x Red Gadget

2x Yellow Gadget

2x Green Gadget

2x Ultimate Offering

1x Depth Amulet

1x Lightning Vortex

1x Shrink

2x Magic Jammer

1x Mystical Space Typhoon

1x Phoenix Wing Wind Blast

In this deck, I like to use a really good card that no Dark World deck seems to use anymore, Forced Requisition. Many people complain that a Dark World deck depletes your hand far to quickly, so I say, hey, if I have a empty hand, so can my opponent.

I originally started out stressing hand depletion, having 3x Forced Requisition AND 3x Drastic Drop Off. I soon realized that Forced Requisition does most of the discarding for me, so I eventually replaced Drastic Drop Off with more useful cards.

Another card I like to use is Depth Amulet, which allows you to negate an attack by discarding one card. Usually, this card would never be useful, but considering you can negate an attack, drop a Gren, Tactician of Dark World/ Kahkki, Guerilla of Dark World/ Broww, Huntsman of Dark World/ Sillva, Warlord of Dark World/ Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World, and destroy a spell or trap/ monster/ draw a card/ summon a 2300 attack beatstick, I find it pretty useful. The fact that it lasts for 3 turns helps aswell.

Other then that, my deck is a pretty standard Dark World deck (in my mind). I feel I stressed straight-out monster removal more then others, but seeing as in most other decks when someone got out a 2400 attack+ monster, you were usually messed up for awhile, I felt some good destroying cards were needed.(And yes I know Lightening Vortex does not activate a Dark World effect).

Please feel free to post any comments, but most importantly fixes please, I would love to have a tournament ready Dark World deck!

Thank you!

If you have access to the OCG, GET FIEND ROAR DEITY RAVEN. I cannot stress this enough - summon it and discard Goldd for a level 8 synchro summon; and if you include Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World, you can get level 7 synchros as well. Meanwhile, remove the Dark Illusion. It's really not that good of a card. Runer5h 02:46, January 8, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Also, I don't believe Depth Amulet triggers the Dark Worldies. I believe the discard is for the cost to activate the effect.--Akiza Izayoi 02:48, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

No, it does. Check the rulings page. Runer5h 02:50, January 8, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Thanks for the tips Runer5h.

I don't currently have access to the OCG, but I do plan on on changing this deck once Raven comes out in English.

Ok, I changed: -1 Dark Illusion +1 Lightening Vortex

I originally had Dark Illusion in to help protect my monsters, but with 2 Dark Necrofear I guess I could use some more monsters in the graveyard. I added in Lightening Vortex, well, for monster removal. :)

Any more comments/ fixes?

i run a dark world deck too, and your largest beatstick would be 2300. your opponent gets out a goyo or stardust and you're dead. so i tech in 2 Burden of the Mighty. helps to keep your opponent's monsters at bay. or maybe 3 shrinks would do good. your opponent's stardust attacks, shrink, and boom, stardust is gone (: if you want to swarm 3 gold/silvers in a turn, use The Cheerful Coffin. allows you to discard 3 cards220.255.7.107 02:35, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Pretty good advice... but I prefer not to use cards that just empty your hand like The Cheerful Coffin and Full Salvo. By the way, get another Allure of Darkness. Runer5h 02:45, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

pretty much all i would say, is dump the decrofears, and go triple mad king. and then when raven comews out, replace mad kings with raven.

@ Runer5h: emptying the hand is what this deck is meant to do. forced requisition and your opponent would have no hand either. but yea i agree an empty hand is pathetic unless you're playing handless combo, so i suggest adding reckless greed220.255.7.202 06:08, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

@ triple mad king: i agree, but with 1800 attack, they are easy to over run. again, shrink/burden of the mighty solves this problem.. you need a giant trunade too, to get your attacks through. and since they are all dark monsters, use dark armed dragon to clear monsters.220.255.7.207 06:14, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for all the fixes. :)

Actually, Burden of the Mighty sounds like a really good idea. I can't just depend on it, which is why I focused mainly on monster removal, but I did forget the main annoyance, Stardust Dragon. Thanks for the tip! Also, like Runer5h said, I don't like to use cards that just empty your hand. Though I know that is the point of Dark World, I prefer to use cards that give do more then just dump. If I need to dump a lot of cards, I also have 2 Depth Amulet, so it keeps the monsters at bay while also letting me summon/destroy.

I might think about adding in another Allure of Darkness, but seeing as it removes one of my monsters from play, I'm not to sure...

Like 220.255.7.207 said, Brron, Mad King of Dark World is easily run over, and seeing as I have about 10+ more cards for discarding Dark Worlds, I think I'm pretty fine on the discarding.

And 220.255.7.207, I might switch out Heavy Storm for Giant Trunade, though I don't like to give my opponents their weapons back...

Oh, and The Horror, I would appreciate it if you would tell me why to make those fixes, if I would change my deck I'd like to know why...

Ok, I made the following changes: -1 Lightning Vortex, -1 Deck Devastation Virus, +2 Burden of the Mighty

I'm still pondering the Giant Trunade/Heavy Storm switch though...

dude, the horror. what are you saying? dandylion doesnt really work except in plants or a synchro deck, treeborn frog doesnt work except in a monarch deck or a synchro deck, and beiige is just straight garabage. what he needs, i think, is a DAD, a second allure, and if you are just going to run the one mad king, you might as well switch him into a gorz??? if you find yourself with blank fields a lot, anyways. if you dont, then replace him with DAD...

Try to use 3 copies of Reckless Greed too, this decktype is supposed to be fast. Trying to control your opponents hand is slow and inefficient. And I don't see why you use a single Dust Tornado and no MST. The Horror'Speak if you dare 16:35, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, The Horror, thank you for explaining those changes.

I see what you mean by Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World, and I will see what I can cut for 2 of him. And the reason I have 2 Dark Necrofear in the first place was to make up a bit for the fact, that I had only Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World and Sillva, Warlord of Dark World. So Dark Necrofear would provide, albeit -100 attack points, a secondary beatstick, as well as monster control.

Mmaayybbee, I'll try to make room for Treeborn Frog, but not Dandylion. Shrink I won't likely be using, considering I have 2x Burden of the Mighty. Reckless Greed I won't be using either, considering to make it worthwhile, you usually ned 2+ of them in your hand/field. And Dust Tornado is just a personal preference. (I know, just don't bother criticizing me about it, please.) Oh, and I don't see what you mean by "Trying to control your opponents hand is slow and inefficient". I have 3 cards in here that do that for me, and in my mind they aren't inefficient at all...

I feel better at least keeping 1 Brron, Mad King of Dark World, if I do switch him it will probably be for Gorz the Emissary of Darkness though.

So changes made: -1 Spirit Reaper, -1 Kahkki, Guerilla of Dark World, +2 Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World Still considering the other changes...

Any more comments/fixes?

no wait, dont add other monsters such as beiige and gorz all those. now the deck is just alright. yea though your only beatsticks are 2300, you're still waiting for FDR Raven. which strengthens this deck 10fold. easy discards, easy synchros, easy beatsticks. beiige is useless except for defense, and maybe some tribute for gold/silvers? but i would rather just use their effects, and spirit reaper does a better job at defending. ok bout the burden of the mighty. i shall explain more about it. yes its an awesome card, but it does give dead draws too. imagine you first hand (after first draw) having 2 spells, 1 trap, 2 burden and 1 broww. like that, it would actually backfire. just saying. that's why shrink would also be good, plus it gives the element of surpise. but you dont have to change it. and btw instead of dark necrofears, i rather you put necro gardna. great defense with depth amulet. remove gren and khakki, you dont need those. add in DAD if you can afford it. change your gren and khakki for 2 shrinks. then you can add in bronn (you dont need beiige). its the perfect combo. they whack your mad king with lets say, a breaker the magical warrior, shrink it to 950, it gets destroyed and 850 LP dmg to your opponent, allowing you to discard a card (:220.255.7.218 09:24, January 10, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for posting.

The reason I prefer Burden of the Mighty over Shrink is because, though I unfortunately don't have the element of surprise, Burden of the Mighty will last the entire duel, instead of let's say, 3 individual uses.

And I prefer Beiige, Vanguard of Dark World and Dark Necrofear over those fixes because they add field presence, which can work well with the before mentioned Burden of the Mighty.

I read over part of your message though and was wondering... Why would I take out Dark World monsters, yet add in more discarding cards? I have 11 discarding cards as it is, which is plenty in my opinion. If you would please explain I would appreciate it. :)

So changes made:

-1 Dragged Down into the Grave

+1 Spirit Reaper
